Final Fantasy IX - Memoria Project - Alexandria Day

This reimagining of Alexandria took over 2.5 years. This was an enormous team effort of over 40 developers, massive shout out to the entire team. You can find the list of everyone on our website - www.ffix-memoria.com

My role was Lead Environment Artist and later Creative Director for the project. I was responsible for managing my team of artists and working closely with Ranko to ensure the props team were creating assets that we needed. I also worked with all the other department leads to make sure we were focussing on tasks for our internal deadlines.

A large portion of my time was spent directly in UE5 building Alexandria, starting from blockout all the way to the final result. I worked on all areas for Alexandria and this included material creation, level art, lighting, cinematic dressing, gameplay, optimization and more. I personally took the following areas from blockout to final art; Lower District, Tavern, Courtyard, Ticketbooth, Alleyway, Docks & Steeple. I provided minor assistance on the other 3 locations that Del & Luan worked on.

I also spent a large amount of time planning and taking the responsibility of a producer to ensure all departments were moving forward and keeping the team motivated through weekly reviews and occasional team wide meetings.

This is the library kit that I created and used to assemble all the buildings throughout Alexandria. Roof tiles were created by Colin.
